Little Deer Ornament Free Crochet Pattern

I’m so excited to decorate for Christmas! This year, I even made the ornament so soon. What about you? Do you like to make your own ornament and put them up your tree? It’s will be very fun.

Materials

1 pairs of 7,5 mm safety eyes

2mm crochet hook

Fiber filling

Little red bell

Abbreviations

MR: Magic ring

ch: chain

sts: stitch(es)

sl st: slip stitch

sc: single crochet

inc: increase

dec : decrease

dc: double crochet

hdc: half double crochet

fo: fasten off

FLO : Front loop only

BLO : Back loop only

rep: repeat

(number): total number of stitches in the round/row.

HEAD

Use beige yarn

Row 1: 6sc in Mr (6)

Row 2: 6inc (12)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Row 4: (2sc, 1inc) * 6 (24)

Row 5: 24 sc (24)

Row 6: (3sc, 1inc) *6 (30)

Row 7: 30 sc (30)

Row 8: (4sc, 1inc) * 6 (36)

Row 9: 9sc; (1sc, 1inc) * 9; 9sc (45)

Row 10 – Row 13: 45 sc (45)

Row 14: 9sc, (1sc, 1dec) * 9; 9sc (36)

Row 15: 36 sc (36)

Row 16: (2sc,1dec,2sc) * 6 (30)

Row 17: (3sc, 1dec) *6 (24)

Row 18: (1sc,1dec,1sc) * 6 (18) Place the safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9 of the head at about 8 sts apart. Start stuffing with the fiberfill.

Row 19: (1sc,1dec) *6 (12)

Row 20: 6dec (6)

Cut the thread leaving enough length for sewing.

Using the long tail of yarn, sew the opening through the front loops by going across each stitch

EAR (Make 2)

Use beige yarn

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2: 6 sc (6)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 3 (9)

Row 4: ( 2sc, 1inc) * 3(12)

Row 5 – Row 6: 12sc (12)

Row 7: ( 2sc, 1dec) * 3 (9).

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for sewing. Fold the ear and sew the open edges closed. Sew the ear to the head between row 7 and row 8.

HORN (Make 2)

Use brown yarn.

Detail 1

Row 1: 4sc in Mr (4)

Row 2 – Row 3: 4sc (4)

Cut the yarn.

Detail 2

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2 – Row 4: 6sc (6)

Row 5: 6sc of the second detail, 4 sc of the first detail (10)

Row 6: 5dec (5)

Row 7: 5 sc (5)

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the horn to the head between row 3 and row 4.

MUZZLE

Use white yarn

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2: 6inc (12)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Cut the yarn and leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the muzzle to the head. Use brown yarn to embroider the nose.

Little deer ornament

COLLAR

Use red yarn

Row 1: Chain 12, join by sl st.

Row 2: Chain 3, 24 DC in the ring (24)

Row 3: Chain 3, (3 DC in the same st) * 24 (72)

Fasten off . Put the collar under the head. Then you sew the collar to the head.

LEAF (Make 2)

Use green yarn

Row 1: Chain 5, 1slst, 1sc, 2dc in same st, 1sc.

Cut the yarn and leave the long tail. Sew 2 leaves together. Sew the little bell to the leaf.

Use red yarn to make some freckles.
