Abbreviations

MR: Magic ring
ch: chain

inc: increase

dec : decrease

fo: fasten off

FLO : Front loop only

BLO : Back loop only

rep: repeat
(number): total number of stitches in the round/row.

HEAD

Use yellow yarn 84

Row 1: 8 sc in MR (8)

Row 2: 8 inc (16)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 8 (24)

Row 4: (1sc, 1inc, 1sc) * 8 (32)

Row 5: (3sc, 1inc) * 8 (40)

Row 6 – Row 7: 40 sc(40)

Row 8: (1sc, 1inc, 3sc) * 8 (48)

Row 9 – Row 12:48 sc (48)

Row13:  12 sc, (1sc, 1inc) * 12, 12sc (60)

Row 14 – Row 17: 60 sc (60)

Row 18: 12sc, (1sc, 1dec) * 12, 12sc (48)

Row 19: 48 sc (48)

Row 20: (2sc, 1dec, 2sc) * 8 (40)

Row 21: (3sc, 1dec) * 8 (32)

Row 22: (1sc, 1dec, 1sc) * 8 (24)

Cut the thread leaving enough length for sewing. Place the safety eyes between rounds 12 and13 at about 10 sts apart.  Stuff with the fiberfill.

Crochet animal crossing

If you don’t want to use safety eyes, you can embroider the eyes:

MUZZLE

Use light yellow yarn 67

Row 1: 4ch, start in the 2nd chain from the hook, 1inc, 1sc, 4 sc in same base, work on a long the other side, 1sc, 1inc (10)

Row 2: 2inc, 1sc, 4inc, 1sc, 2inc (18)

Change to yellow yarn 84

Row 3: BLO, 18sc (18)

Cut the thread leaving enough length for sewing.  Sew the muzzle to the head between Row 13 and Row 17.

Use brown felt fabric to make the nostril.

EARS (Make 2)

Use yellow yarn 84

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2: (1sc,1inc) *3 (9)

Row 3: 9sc (9)

Row 4: (2sc, 1inc) * 3 (12)

Row 5: (3sc, 1inc) * 3 (15)

Row 6: (4sc, 1inc) * 3 (18)

Row 7: (2sc, 1inc) *6 (24)

Row 8: 24 sc (24)

Row 9: (1sc, 1dec, 1sc) * 6(18)

Fasten off. Leaving a long tail. Don’t stuff the ears.

Take the ear, flatten it and sew the open edges closed. Leave a long tail.

Sew the ear to the head between the row 4 and the row 14 of the head.    

SNOT BUBBLE

Use light blue 81

Chain 4, starting in second ch from hook, 1sltst, 1sc, 3sc in the same st, 1sc, 1 slst.

Cut and secure the yarn. Sew the snot bubble to the muzzle.

CHEEK (Make 2)

Use orange yarn

Row 1: 5sc in MR (5)

Row 2: 5inc (10)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 5 (15)

Cut the thread leaving enough length for sewing. Finish the round with the invisible way. Sew the cheek to the head.

HAIR (Make 3)

Use brown yarn,

Row 1: Chain 11, starting in second ch from hook, 10 sc, turn back (10)

Row 2: 10 sc (10)

Cut and secure the yarn. Glue the hair to the head.

LEGS (Make 2)

Use brown yarn

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2: 6inc (12)

Row 3 – Row 4: 12 sc (12)

Change to yellow yarn 84

Row 5 – Row 12: 12sc (12) 

Cut and secure the thread. Make the other leg but don’t cut the thread and continue working the body.

BODY 

Still using the chosen yarn and the 2mm hook, continue working and put the second leg near to the first one and go ahead with these steps:

Row 1: sc in the following 12 sts of the second leg, chain 3 and join with the first leg, sc in the following 12 sts of the first leg, 3 sc in 3ch, place a stitch marker in the last sts [30]

Row 2: (4sc, 1inc) *6 (36)

Row 3: (5sc, 1inc) * 6 (42)

Row 4: (6sc, 1inc) * 6 (48)

Row 5 – Row 9: 48 sc (48)

Change to red yarn

Row 10: BLO, (3sc, 1dec, 3sc) * 6 (42)

Change to blue yarn 16

Row 11 – Row 12: 42 sc (42)

Row 13: (5sc, 1dec) * 6 (36)

Row 14 – Row 15: 36 sc (36)

Row 16: (2sc, 1dec, 2sc) * 6 (30)

Row 17 – Row 18: 30 sc (30)

Row 19: (3sc, 1dec) * 6 (24)

Cut and secure the thread.

Hold the body upside down, go to R10, use blue yarn 16, insert 1 sc

Row 1: FLO, (7sc, 1inc) * 6 (54)

Row 2 – Row 9: 54 sc (54)

Cut and secure the thread.

Stuff the body. Sew the body to the head.

ARM (Make 2)

Use brown yarn

Row 1: MR 4sc (4)

Row 2: 4inc (8)

Row 3: 8 sc (8)

Change to yellow yarn 84

Row 4 – Row 9: 8sc (8)

Change to blue yarn 16

Row 10 – Row 14: 8sc (8)

Stuff the arms. Cut and secure the thread leaving enough to sew on the arms between rounds 16 and 17 of the body.  

APRON 

Use light blue 81

Row 1: Chain 17, starting in second ch from hook, 16sc, turn back (16)

Row 2 – Row 8: ch 1, 16sc, turn back (16)

Cut and secure the yarn. Leave a long tail for sewing. Use white yarn to decorate the apron. Sew the apron to the dress. Use white yarn to decorate the apron.

BOW

Use red yarn

Chain 9

Row 1: Starting in second ch from hook, 8 sc, turn back (8).

Row 2 – Row 4: ch1, 8 sc, turn back (8).

Fasten off and leave long end for sewing.  Wrap the middle of the bow with a yarn a couple of times. Sew the bow to the dress.

BASKET

Use beige yarn

Row 1: 6sc in Mr (6)

Row 2: 6inc (12)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Row 4: (2sc, 1inc) * 6 (24)

Row 5: (3sc, 1inc) * 6 (30)

Row 6: BLO, 30 sc (30)

Row 7 – Row 8: 30 sc (30)

Row 9: (4sc, 1inc) * 6 (36)

Row 10: (5sc, 1inc) * 6 (42)

Row 11: (2sc, 1inc) * 14 (56)

Row 12: 56 sc (56)

Cut and secure the yarn.

TURNIP (Make 3)

Use white yarn

Row 1: 6sc in MR (6)

Row 2: 6sc (6)

Row 3: (1sc, 1inc) *3 (9)

Row 5: (1sc, 1inc) * 6 (18)

Row 6 – Row 8: 18 sc (18)

Cut the yarn and using a needle to guide it into each front loop of the last round. Fasten off.

LEAF (Make 6)

Use green yarn

Row 1: Chain 9, Starting in second ch from hook, 3slst, 2sc, 1 HDC, 2 HDC in the same st, 4 DC in the same st, 2 HDC in the next st, 1 HDC, 2sc, 3slst.

Cut and secure the yarn. Sew the leaf to the turnips.

Put the turnip in the basket and sew them together.

SHAWL

Use white yarn

Row 11: 20 ch, starting in the second ch from hook, 19 sc.

Cut and secure the yarn.

Use white yarn, insert 1 sc in the opposite site, 20 ch, starting in the second ch from hook, 19 sc.

Cut and secure the yarn.

Put the shawl on the head and put the basket on the head. Use the red yarn to decorate.
